Feeding Kids Today

Empowering the Leaders of Tomorrow

Our Mission

At Food4KidsNJ, our mission is to feed New Jersey’s children today and empower tomorrow’s leaders for life. We bring together schools, families, and communities to provide weekend meals for kids who would otherwise go hungry, while also creating opportunities for young people to develop essential life skills. Through nourishment and mentorship, we’re building hope, health, and a stronger future for every child.

The Reality

Over 600,000 students in New Jersey received free or reduced lunch, many of these children are experiencing food insecurity at home. As these numbers continue to rise, many kids are left without enough to eat on weekends, during school breaks, and throughout the summer months. Even with federal programs in place, the need continues to outpace the support, leaving thousands of children vulnerable to hunger in their own communities.

Our Plan

Food4KidsNJ partners with local school districts, parents, and community organizations to meet this urgent need. Our Weekend Meals Program discreetly provides pre-packed, nutritious food in students’ backpacks every Friday, ensuring they return to school on Monday ready to learn.

At the same time, we empower students through an Experiential Learning & Life Skills Program that builds real-world leadership, entrepreneurial thinking, and community engagement.

By mobilizing volunteers, rallying donors, and reinvesting 20% of every fundraiser to run follow-up fundraisers and expand into new school districts, we’re building a self-sustaining model that feeds children year after year and grows stronger with every campaign.
